What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Aramendia Plumbing, Heating and Air is here with a few of the most common cooling problems in San Antonio.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment working but there isn’t cool air being produced, you may need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Aramendia Plumbing, Heating and Air and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it merely burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity can cause more condensation so a second issue to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is restricted. If you can confirm these matters, you may be able to find the culprit; if not, give Aramendia Plumbing, Heating and Air a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause major cooling problems. Another problem that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Aramendia Plumbing, Heating and Air will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and needs cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be all set. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm up again, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Aramendia Plumbing, Heating and Air is here for you 24/7/365 so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
