What NATE Certification is and Why it Matters

November 08, 2016

Aramendia Plumbing, Heating and Air, A Service Experts Company in San Antonio always talks about how our technicians are NATE-certified, and while it sounds encouraging, what does it truly mean?

NATE is an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence and, according to their website, is the nation’s largest certification organization for HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and refrigeration technicians. The organization is owned, operated, developed, and supported by the entire HVAC and refrigeration industry but not all people in the industry are required to be NATE-certified. The certification is discretionary and technicians can work in the heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration industry without being NATE-certified.

It’s important to Aramendia that our team is NATE-certified to be sure we are sending the most qualified and trained technicians into your home. To make sure technicians meet these criteria, the NATE-certification tests validate real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The tests are knowledge-based exams that assess the technician’s knowledge of these standards.

Since Aramendia Plumbing, Heating and Air, A Service Experts Company focuses on the HVAC side of NATE-certification and not refrigeration, there are only particular areas applicable to our technicians. NATE assessment candidates may receive installation and/or service certification in one or more of the talent areas listed below:
