Is it time to replace your new boiler? Aramendia Plumbing, Heating and Air is here with a few signals to look for when choosing whether it’s time to buy a new boiler.
Age
If your condensing boiler gets routine maintenance, you can expect it to operate about 15 years or more. Cast iron boilers can last a lot longer, even up to 50 years with proper maintenance. If your condensing boiler is coming up on 15 years or your cast iron boiler is almost 50 years, it may be time to consider an upgrade.
Bills
If your heating bills are rising or you’re having to maintain your boiler more frequently, it could be because it’s time to invest in a new, more efficient boiler.
Discoloration
If you see yellow flames on the gas burners and black soot on oil burners it could be a signal that the fuel is not burning properly and could be producing carbon monoxide. If you see these issues or have any concerns about carbon monoxide in your home, you should call Aramendia Plumbing or your gas company as soon as possible.
Comfort
If some of the areas in your home are too warm or too cool and you can’t seem to control them properly or get them comfortable, it could be that your boiler is not effective and you may need to look into upgrade options.
